Another Sales Record at Mazda Motor Europe
June 10th, 2008 | by Stephen D |Mazda Motor Europe set another all-time record last month with a retail sales volume of 31,200 units. This is up 18 percent year-on-year, and the most vehicles Mazda has ever sold in the month of May in Europe. So far this year, Mazda has been one of Europe’s fastest growing car brands with sales up 18 percent at a volume of 158,700 units for the period January through May.
The Mazda brand saw increasing popularity in all regions of Europe, with 19 countries up year-on-year and seven markets setting May records. Russia was again Mazda’s biggest market (see table below for details) and set a record for May volume while booking its 18th consecutive month of double-digit growth or better.
Two markets – the UK and Portugal – set double May records, for both volume and estimated market share. And in central and south-eastern Europe, Mazda continued to do very well with record May results reported in the Ukraine, Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia. Italy and Greece had their second best, and the Czech Republic & Slovakia organisation its third best May results ever as well.
